DOG The Bounty Hunter's daughter Lyssa Chapman has revealed how she and her fiancee rekindled their relationship during a "love trip" after a contempo rocky patch.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Lyssa admitted how she and girlfriend Leiana "Lei" Evensen are now back on track following a tough 3 years where they suffered the expiry of Lei's brother Gerrit in 2017 in a tragic aeroplane crash and so the loss of Beth Chapman, Lyssa's stepmom, from cancer last year.

Canis familiaris's daughter Lyssa even considered moving abroad from their Hawaii dwelling house to the U.s.a. mainland earlier this year while she and Lei were going through a difficult patch.

Merely the couple decided to stick it out and enjoyed a mini "staycation" to Kauai where they reconnected during long hikes and visits to the Hawaiian island's stunning beaches.

"We decided that since there was a petty flake of a lag in COVID, we would take a little dear trip for a weekend," she said.

"Then we went to Kauai and we just basically ran that island to the ground.

"We hiked and nosotros went to about 14 different beaches every twenty-four hours and but had a really good fourth dimension spending fourth dimension together and enjoying each other's company.

"I feel like before we got put on lockdown, things were a little bit rockier in the human relationship, simply it was almost a blessing for usa to live together and not exist able to leave.

"It kind of forced u.s.a. to spend a piddling bit more time together and rekindle something.

"So when we were able to go to Kauai it was a chance just to be together and not accept to worry about the kids and our schedules and work."

The trip also has a special meaning for the couple, as it marked the third anniversary of Lei's beloved brother Gerrit.

Gerrit, his girlfriend and 2 friends died in a shock plane crash after they had gone out for a dusk flying in July 2017.

"Lei and her blood brother were extremely close. It was i of the first things I remember her talking to me about actually was her blood brother," Lyssa said.

"We decided to go right afterward the three year anniversary because they had taken a lot of special family unit trips there while they were growing up.

"And and so we were going to a couple of spots and suddenly Lei would have a childhood retention of her existence with her brother playing. And it was really, really sweet and special.

"Nosotros did a couple of hikes way upwards on the mountain and we got to spread a little chip of his ashes. It's something we practice wherever we become on our trips.

"So we took him to Republic of costa rica, we took him all over the Caribbean area and his parents practise the same thing.

"And then anywhere we go, nosotros just have a trivial bit of his ashes that we've spread to accolade him.

"It'south therapeutic for Lei to kind of get a chance to exist with her brother over again."

Lyssa said that while it had been hard to deal with the tragedies life has thrown them, it has as well brought them closer together.

"We've been through some major traumas together and that's difficult for whatever person to bargain with solitary, let lonely within a human relationship, only having each other has definitely been a blessing," Lyssa said.

"Just having that niggling bit of support there for you is really crawly.

"I remember every relationship comes with its ain challenges and I think with Beth being sick and all the strife going on in the family, you lot kind of accept a look around and you lot're like, 'Are you on my side?' And 'Is this something I idea information technology was?'

"And so we had a lot of reflection fourth dimension, especially with the huge family changes that we've gone through over the past twelvemonth and a half, two years.

"But it'southward been over a year now since Beth passed and things are just starting to feel like a new normal, things are kind of settling into place. I think when your spouse loses a loved i it turns your world upside downwards for a while."

While Lyssa and Lei, who started dating iv years agone while they were both working in the same shopping mall, are happily in love, they take no firsthand plans to become married.
